A Unique Maduro Experience
The Partagas Maduro No. 1 measures 5 1/2" x 52 and is distinguished by a second identifying band that reads "Maduro No. 1". The term 'Maduro' refers to a very dark shade of wrapper leaf. These leaves are harvested from the top of the shade-grown tobacco plant and undergo air curing, natural fermentation, and ageing, resulting in a rich, dark, oily appearance. This process adds a 'top taste' to the blend, often described as sweet.
A First for Partagas
While the concept of dedicating Maduro wrappers to a vitola was previously introduced by Habanos S.A. with the Cohiba Maduro 5 range in 2007, this is a brand-new venture for Partagas. The Maduro No. 1 is the first of the Maduro series within the Partagas brand, characterised by its dark Maduro wrapper due to the extra fermentation period, enhancing its full flavour.
Attractive Product Design
The Partagas Maduro No. 1 also features a new and attractive product design. The bofeton (a protective leaf of paper inside the box) and costero (the colour strip on the short sides of the box) are presented in a brown colour. Additionally, a small band accompanies the traditional ring of the brand, also in the same colour, with the name of this new Vitola.
